Metazoa Snapshot provides users with a diverse range of preferences to tailor their experience, streamline workflows, and manage storage and reporting options. This guide outlines the different options available in the Metazoa Snapshot Preferences interface.
Setting Your Experience Level
The Snapshot Preferences interface allows you to set your preferred experience level. The options range from 'Getting Started' for novice users, which provides a simpler interface, to 'Power-User' which grants access to an array of advanced features and options.
Selecting Your Storage Options
In this section, you can manage your storage credentials. The options include:
- Ephemeral: In this mode, credentials will need to be restored with each new session.
- Persistent: This option securely stores credentials in an encrypted local file, suitable for secure machines.
Deployment History Reports
Metazoa Snapshot can generate comprehensive reports after each deployment. You can configure the frequency of these reports based on your needs. The available options are:
- Generate a report after every deployment.
- Generate a report only when a deployment changes the org or attempts to.
- Do not generate reports.
Advanced Tools
For power users, the Preferences interface allows adding advanced tools to the tool palette. This can include the project repo tools and the upcoming continuous integration tools.
Sound Effects
The application provides various sound effects which can be turned on or off based on your preferences.
Creating a New Desktop Item
You can choose whether or not to automatically open the default dialog when creating a new desktop item.
Reporting and Scheduling
Snapshot preferences also let you manage various aspects of reporting and scheduling:
- Content: You can automatically save reports or snapshots to a Salesforce content folder. You just need to provide the name of the content folder and a nickname, which will then appear in the reporting interface.
- Local Folders: You can also save reports to local folders on your device.
- Chatter: You can select chatter groups for sending reports, which is similar to sending reports as email attachments to a list of recipients.
- Actions: Here, you can set up other tasks that you want to execute during reporting, like launching an application or navigating to a specific browser page.
Branding
Snapshot preferences allow you to customize your reports with branding. You can add your organization's header text, logo, and a link to the picture. You can also change the picture and the link it leads to, allowing you to promote your services or brand your reports with a corporate image.
Once you've set up these preferences, you can use them in your workflows. For example, in the scheduling tab, you'll find the nicknames you set for your content folders, making it easier to manage your reports and snapshots.
The snapshot preferences dialogue provides a powerful way to tailor your experience with Metazoa Snapshot, helping you manage and streamline your Salesforce deployments effectively.
